The Draft Survey Calculation Tool simplifies draft calculations by allowing users to compare two distinct ship conditions: Initial and Final 🌊. With this tool, mariners can calculate and save data for each condition, providing an efficient method for managing essential calculations with ease ✅.
How to Use the Draft Survey Calculation Tool
The program is divided into two parts, Initial and Final, enabling users to perform calculations for both the starting and ending conditions of the ship ⚖️.
Step 1: Save Ship Data 💾
Before starting, navigate to the Ship's Data page to enter and save all required ship data. This ensures the calculation process is accurate and consistent.
Step 2: Select Aft Draft Type ⚓
After saving ship data, select the type of aft draft you want to use:
Click “Hull” if you’re using the aft draft by Hull.
Click “Rudder” if you’re using the aft draft by Rudder.
This choice determines the aft draft used in the calculation 🛳️.
Step 3: Input Water Density and Draft Readings 🌊
Water Density: Enter the water density at the time of the draft reading.
Draft Readings: Input the six draft readings required by the tool.
If all necessary data is saved in the Ship's Data page, the program will automatically calculate the Quarter Mean Draft for the next step 📝.
Step 4: Enter Hydrostatic Data 📊
Hydrostatic data can be entered in two ways to ensure precise calculations:
Manual Entry: Input hydrostatic values manually, ensuring they are based on a density of 1.025.
Insert Data from Hydrostatic Tables: If hydrostatic data has already been saved in the Hydrostatic Tables section of the Ship’s Data page, click Insert Data to automatically populate the required values 🔄.
Required hydrostatic data fields include:
Draft (Above and Below): Enter the drafts above and below the required draft.
Displacement (Above and Below): Input displacement values.
TPC (Above and Below): Enter Tons per Centimeter values.
LCF (Above and Below): Input the Longitudinal Center of Flotation from the middle perpendicular.
MTC: Enter the Moment to Change Trim values.
These values are critical for accurate calculations ⚙️.
Step 5: Complete Calculations ✅
Using the draft readings, hydrostatic data, and known deductions, the program will calculate the final results.
Additional Features
💡 Displacement Converter: Adjusts Displacement, TPC, and MTC values for the required density (1.025).
🔄 LCF Converter: Converts LCF from the aft perpendicular to the middle perpendicular for hydrostatic tables.
📖 Record Book: At the top of the page, maintain personal notes and additional information related to the draft survey 📝.
Final Steps: Save, Print, and Export 🖨️
Enter and save additional details:
Port Name
Date 📅
Remarks (optional)
Ship Representative (optional)
Click Print to generate a printout form with the calculated data. Use the printer icon in the top-right corner to print directly or save the document as a PDF 📄.
⚠️ Important: Always click Save and Calculate buttons to ensure all data is updated accurately!
