The Ballast Calculation Tool provides an efficient way to manage and calculate ballast on board, divided into Initial and Final calculations to track ballast at different stages 🌊. Packed with features like converters, a data entry table, and a print function, this tool makes ballast management easier and more reliable ✅.
How to Use the Ballast Calculation Tool
Step 1: Use the Converters 🔄
At the top of the page, you’ll find four independent converters. These tools are perfect for quickly finding values based on your sounding tables, trim, and heel. Use them to ensure your data is as accurate as possible before entering it into the main table 📊.
Step 2: Enter Data in the Ballast Table 📝
Below the converters is the main ballast table, where you’ll enter details for each ballast tank on board.
Adding Data to the Table
Click the Add button to create a new entry line for each tank. For each line, fill in:
Name of Tank
Full Capacity: The tank’s total capacity.
Current Gauge: The current gauge reading.
Actual Volume in Tank: The volume found based on the sounding.
Density of Water in Tank: Input the water density for each tank.
Actual Weight in Tank: Automatically calculated by the tool based on the entered values ⚖️.
Delete and Save Options
Delete All: Removes all entries from the table 🗑️.
Bin Icon: Deletes the last line entered.
Save: Saves all current table data for future reference 💾.
Step 3: Review Total Calculations 📈
Below the table, the program automatically calculates and displays totals for:
Total Capacity of Tanks on Board
Total Volume of Ballast on Board
Total Weight of Ballast on Board
These totals provide a clear view of ballast across all tanks on the vessel 🌟.
Step 4: Save Additional Information 💾
In the final section, you can add additional details:
Port Name
Date 📅
Remarks (optional)
Name of Shore Representative (optional)
Record Book 📖
At the top of the page, you’ll find a Record Book icon for keeping personal notes or records related to ballast calculations. This feature is handy for referencing past operations or adding supplementary information 📝.
Final Steps: Print or Save Ballast Report 🖨️
At the bottom of the page, click the Print button to generate a Ballast Report. This report includes all saved data for easy review.
Use the Printer Icon in the top-right corner of the report to print it directly or save it as a PDF.
⚠️ Reminder: Always click the necessary save and calculate buttons to ensure your data is updated correctly!
